The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) approved charge-sheets (CS) Tuesday against four persons including one former official of Chittagong Customs House in separate cases on charge of accumulating illegal wealth.

The Commission at its regular meeting approved the charge-sheets against them, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told The Financial Express.

The charge-sheets will be submitted before court soon against Assistant Appraiser Hatem Ali and his wife Rafeza Khanam and their relatives Delwar Hossain and Rezaul Haque. They hail from Mymensingh.

On May 11 of 2011, ACC filed two cases against them with Ramna Police Station for alleged accumulation of wealth illegally.

During the ACC investigation, it was found that Hatem Ali was a customs officer in Chittagong Customs House and he earned money illegally during his service life and helped his wife Rafeza Khanum accumulate wealth worth Tk 15.3 million.

As Delwar Hossain and Rezaul Haque, helped her earn illegal wealth, their names were included in one charge-sheet.

Hatem Ali bought shares of Tk 7.5 million of a local private firm located in Mymensingh from his alleged illegal income.
