October 31, 2014 00:00:00

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched a probe into the alleged regularities committed by a section of officials of Chittagong Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (CWASA), reports UNB.

The commission has launched the probe following an allegation that CWASA deputy secretary Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and others recruited a number of CWASA staff and gave promotions to many officials violating rules for their 'personal gain'.

Meanwhile, the ACC on Wednesday sent a notice to the CWASA MD asking him to instruct eight CWASA officials to be present at the ACC head office in the capital on November 9-10 next to face interrogation in connection with the allegation.
