ACC seeks wealth statement from two MPs

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) Sunday sent notices to two running and former ruling party Members of Parliament (MPs) and their family members seeking wealth statements following allegations of illegal wealth accumulation.
The Commission served separate notices asking them to submit their wealth statements to the ACC within seven working days, ACC officials said.
They are Aslamul Haque, MP from Dhaka-14 constituency and Abdul Jabbar, a former lawmaker from Satkhira-2 constituency. Aslamul Haque's notice was signed by ACC Deputy Director Sheikh Mesbah Uddin while Assistant Director Masudur Rahman signed Abdul Jabbar.
Earlier, the ACC started investigation into the alleged illegal wealth of the seven ministers and members of parliament (MPs). They were the former health minister, state minister for housing and public works Abdul Mannan Khan, and state minister for water resources, lawmaker from Cox's Bazar-4 constituency Abdur Rahman Bodi, MP of Rajshahi-4 Engineer Enamul Haq, Aslamul Haque of Dhaka-14 and Abdul Zabbar of Satkhira-2.
