ACC seeks wealth statements of Titas MD, three others

The Anti-corruption Com-mission (ACC) sought wealth statements of four officials of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd including its Managing Director Engr Md Nowshad Islam.
The Commission served notices upon the officials on Wednesday asking them to submit their wealth accounts to the ACC within the stipulated time, said ACC officials.
The three other officials are: Titas Gas Deputy General Manger (Gazipur) Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Assistant Engr Mofazzal Hossain and staff Nurul Haque Mollah.
The ACC recently launched probes against the Titas Gas officials after receiving allegations that they had accumulated huge illegal wealth.
ACC Assistant Director Shamsul Islam is currently conducting probes against the Titas Gas officials.
Meanwhile, ACC launched probes against Executive Engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) Engr Abdur Razzaque and two other engineers for allegedly accumulating wealth illegally.
The Commission at its recent meeting decided to initiate probes into the allegations of illegal wealth accumulation by the BWDB engineers, ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the FE.
ACC Deputy Director Hamidul Hasan has already been appointed as inquiry officer to carry out the probes into the allegations.
