ACC to grill CAAB chief engineer on June 10, 12

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will interrogate Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh (CAAB) chief engineer Sudhendu Bikash Goswami on June 10 and 12 for irregularities, corruption and embezzlement of funds, reports UNB.
He will have to appear before the Commission's head office in the capital at 10:00 am on the days, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the news agency.
ACC Assistant Director Salam Ali Mollah will quiz Sudhendhu on June 10 while the chief engineer will face interrogation by another Assistant Director Khairul Haque on June 12.
According to the ACC, Sudhendu amassed large amount of money through irregularities and corruption in maintenance, construction and purchase work, and embezzlement of funds.
He will have to turn up with the list of projects, and costs in detail in purchase for the fiscal years of 2015-16 and 2016-17, audit report of fiscal year 2016-17, expenditure for maintenance and construction and allocation amount in the IT sector and its implemented works.
On October 19 last year, the ACC interrogated two CAAB engineers, including its chief engineer, for their suspected involvement in corruption.
An ACC team, led by its director Mir Joynul Abedin Shebly, grilled the CAAB chief engineer and its superintendent engineer M Maksudul Islam.
