The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) Wednesday stayed a High Court (HC) order for two weeks that granted bail to Sadman Yaseer Mahmud, a chargesheeted accused in Blogar Rajib Haider murder case, reports BSS.
The chamber judge of the Appellate Division Justice Hasan Foiz Siddique issued the stay order granting a prayer for the state.
The Chamber judge's order directed Sadman to surrender to the trial court by next two weeks.
The chamber judge also referred the matter to the regular bench of the Appellate Division and set June 16 for its hearing.
A High Court bench on June 1 granted six-month ad interim bail to Sadman in the case. Following the High Court order Sadman was released from the jail custody on June 5.
Rajib, an active worker of 'Gonojagaron Monch' was killed on February 15 last year at Pallabi area in the city.
