At least seven people, including famous TV actor Afzal Hossain, have been sued on charge of beating two employees of Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU), reports UNB.

DRU employee Solaiman filed the case with Shahbagh Police Station Sunday night.

Sources said a group of people, numbering 8-10, including Afzal Hossain, had an altercation with the employees of DRU as they were bringing down goods from a picnic bus of DRU, parked in front of the house no 6 at Segunbagicha in the city, at around 11:00pm Friday.

At one stage, Afzal and his supporters attacked DRU's employees and beat up them, leaving 5-6 people injured.

Critically injured three-Azad, Feroz and Shukur-were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

When contacted, DRU General Secretary Ilias Khan confirmed the incident and said that the case was filed on charge of beating the employees of the organisation.
