Newly-appointed Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman paid homage to the 1971 Liberation War martyred police members at the monument on Rajarbagh Police Lines in the city on Saturday — Focus Bangla Additional IGP Habibur Rahman took charge as the 36th Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) from outgoing Commissioner Khandaker Golam Faruk at the DMP headquarters on Saturday, reports UNB.
Meanwhile, outgoing DMP Commissioner Khandkar Golam Faruk was formally bid farewell by the policemen by pulling the car with a rope of flowers.
During the departure of the outgoing commissioner, the policemen at various levels, including the senior officers of the DMP, became emotional.
Earlier, a smart team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police gave a farewell salute to the outgoing commissioner.
Additional IGP and chief of Tourist police Habibur Rahman was given appointment as the new DMP Commissioner by the security division of the Home Ministry on September 20.
