Afghan envoy visits IUT

Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Bangladesh Ahmad Karim Nawabi paid a visit to the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Thursday. The IUT Vice-Chancellor M Fazli Ilahi and senior officials received him on its Gazipur campus, said a press release.
The ambassador was apprised of the objectives and various activities of the university and progress made so far for its overall development. Nawabi met the heads of departments, members of faculties and senior officials of the university and exchanged views with them. He met the students of different countries and enquired about their progress.
The ambassador referred to devastations caused due to war in Afghanistan and urged for assistance to help the educational institutions of his country academically. The vice-chancellor assured him of full cooperation from the IUT for training Afghan human resources including teachers.
