AK-22 rifle, explosives seized in city

One AK-22 rifle and explosives were recovered from the city's Kamalapur railway station Tuesday, reports BSS.
"Locals informed the police of the matter after they found a bag in an abandoned condition at Kamalapur railway station. After opening the bag, the railway police found one AK-22 rifle, seven bullets, three knives, 10 pieces of power-gel and 10 pieces of detonators," deputy inspector general (DIG) Kamrul Ahshan of Railway Police told the news agency Tuesday.
Railway police recovered Monday one AK-22 rifle, eight bullets, two magazines and powerful explosive materials from a Dhaka-bound train and arrested two passengers-Nurul Islam (35) and Shamim alias Abdullah (25), -- in this connection.
