GAZIPUR, Aug 13 (UNB): Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced government plan for upgrading all modes of education in the country to international standards, reports UNB.
"All education, including higher education, will be brought under world standards in our country," he said while inaugurating a two-day ICT fair at the international educational institution IUT here.
The education minister said, "To survive in the world competition we have to acquire modern knowledge and technology in all spheres."
He also said government have taken various steps to bring weak and dropout students under modern technological education in order to groom skilled manpower.
Prof Dr Imtiaz Hossain, Vice-chancellor of IUT, and Kayes A Chowdhury, Managing Director of AB Bank, also addressed the inaugural function.
The education minister later went round the stalls set up by the ICT students at the fair.
