Nilphamari district surpassed its transplanted Aman cultivation target by 4315 hectares of land this year. A Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) official said total target of cultivation of transplanted Aman was 1,10,820 hectares of land whereas total cultivation reached 1,15,155 hectares of land. The same source said even after two consecutive floods production of transplanted Aman is expected to exceed the target. Last few days of rain greatly favoured growing plants to become healthy all across the district. Sources said in the last two floods 1431 hectares of Aman crops were affected but the farmers replanted those to get rid of the situation.
