Amateur Radio Field Day observed

A daylong National Amateur Radio Field Day 2024 was observed in Purbachal reserve forest area of the capital on Thursday.

Some 250 amateur radio operators and radio communication enthusiasts took part in the event.

The Amateur Radio Association of Bangladesh (ARAB) organised the programme with ARAB president Md Zillur Rahman in the chair.

Bangladesh Telecommu-nication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Commissioner Engineer Sheikh Reaz Ahmed was present as the chief guest, while Brigadier General Mohammad Moniruzzaman Jewel, director general of the Spectrum Division at the BTRC, as the special guest.

A variety of radio stations and antennas were set up and various types of radio equipment were displayed on the venue of the event. Interesting competitions like fox hunting and roping were organised on the occasion. Prizes and certificates were distributed among the winners.
