Anisul urges UK to repatriate Tarique, Mueen

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq urged on Saturday the government of the United Kingdom to repatriate convicted criminal Tarique Rahman and war criminal Chowdhury Mueen-Uddin immediately, reports BSS.
"It is our duty to execute the verdict given by our courts," he said.
The minister came up with the observations while addressing a human chain and rally held at capital's Banani field in protest against recent vandalism of Bangladesh High Commission in London by BNP-Jamaat men, not arresting BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, who allegedly ordered the attack.
Organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote, the rally was presided over by its president and State Minister for Information Tarana Halim.
Terming the United Kingdom as the biggest symbol of democracy, the law minister said, "We want to see the country to give appropriate punishments to people those vandalised Bangladesh High Commission in London, attacked its staffs and dishonoured the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman."
"If they can't punish them, let's hand them over to us, we will brought them to justice through proper trial. We were able to arrest and punish the people those attacked British envoy in Sylhet in 1996," Anisul added.
