Yet another High Court (HC) division bench felt embarrassed on Sunday to hear a petition seeking its directive to remove the unauthorised structures constructed on the Dhanmondi playground, reports UNB.
The petition was placed on the day before an HC division bench comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Kazi M Ejarul Haque Akondo.
Earlier, on April 29, the admissibility hearing on a petition seeking court directives to undo the illegal occupation of the Dhanmondi playground could not take place as the designated division bench of the HC headed by Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury also felt embarrassed to hear it.
Passing the order, the HC division bench had sent the matter to the Chief Justice (CJ) for order.
And accordingly, the CJ constituted the HC division bench headed by Justice Farah Mahbub for hearing the pending petition.
Following a public interest litigation writ petition, the HC on March 15 asked the authorities concerned to open the Dhanmondi playground for all and remove all its unauthorised structures.
Meanwhile, on April 24, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) opened the playground free for all citizens.
