Ansar member shoots colleague dead in Khagrachhari

KHAGRHACHHARHI, July 3 (bdnews24.com): A member of Bangladesh Ansar has shot dead his colleague in Khagrachhari after a brawl, police say.
The shooting took place at Dighinala Upazila's Headman Parha Ansar Camp on Friday afternoon, local police station OC Md Shahadat Hossain Titu said.
Nayek Amir Hossain (55) hailed from Khagrachhari's Panchhari Upazila.
Police are looking for Ansar trooper Rafiqul Islam for allegedly shooting dead Hossain.
Camp members said Islam's afternoon nap was disrupted due to chatters of his colleagues.
He had a heated argument with Hossain after he woke up.
"Islam shot Hossain from a rifle killing the latter on the spot," OC Titu said.
Ansar soldier Islam, a native of Khagrachhari's Matiranga Upazila, has been missing since the incident.
"He fled the camp with the rifle and 80 rounds of ammunition," the OC said.
