Anti-quota demonstrators halt CU shuttle train

CHATTOGRAM, Apr 11: Students demonstrating for reform of the quota system in public services stopped the Chittagong University (CU) shuttle train on the campus and put up barricades at different points of the city streets and railway stations causing severe problems to commuters on Wednesday.
The agitating students halted movement of the shuttle train as it reached the campus at 8.30 in the morning.
They lay a siege to the university railway station and obstructed the train operators as they tried to return to the city for the next trips.
Sholashahar Railway Station Master Md Shahabuddin said there were two other university-bound shuttle trains scheduled to leave the city at 9.45 am and 10.30 am but the journeys were dropped at the last moment as the return shuttle train could not arrive in the city.
