Army CGS, PSO call on President

Newly appointed Army Chief of General Staff (CGS) Lieutenant General Waker-Uz-Zaman and Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division (AFD) Lt Gen Mizanur Rahman Shamim on Monday paid a courtesy call on President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban in the city, reports BSS.

During the meeting, the President was apprised of various activities of the Bangladesh Army, President's Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told the news agency.

The new CGS and the PSO sought the directives and guidelines from the President, Supreme Commander of the AFD, to discharge their duties.

Welcoming the new CGS and PSO, the President expressed the hope that their talent, labour and skills would contribute positively to the development of the armed forces.
