Army takes massive tree plantation programme

Bangladesh army has undertaken a massive programme to make the National Tree Plantation Campaign-2007 a success.
Army Quarter Master General Md Jahangir Alam Choudhury formally inaugurated the tree plantation campaign by planting an Amropali sapling beside army central mosque in the city Tuesday, reports UNB.
Senior army officers were present on the occasion.
Later he offered munajat along with other officers seeking success of the campaign.
Bangladesh Army has chalked out a massive programme of planting saplings in army establishments throughout the country this year.
In addition, as part of government initiative of making the capital a green city, the army has undertaken special tree plantation drive in the city's military outfits, which includes plantation of 34,254 saplings of fruit, timber and medicinal species.
