An assistant sub-inspector of police suffered serious bullet injuries as unidentified assailants shot him in front of Nakhalpara Kadiani Mosque early Wednesday, reports UNB.
He injured was identified as Abdur Razzak, ASI of Shilpanchal police box.
Police said 4/5 unknown assailants, in a private car, ambushed Razzak at Nabisco crossing while he was going to Nakhalpara Kadiani Mosque area by a motorbike at about 3:15am, leaving him seriously injured.
Razzak was first rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital from where he was shifted to Orthopedic Hospital.
The reason behind the gun-attack could not be known immediately.
