Australia contributes Tk 3.7m for human rights project

Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST), a local NGO in Bangladesh, will receive Tk 3.72 million over one year for a human rights project under the Australian government's Human Rights Small Grants Scheme (HRSGS), says a press release.
The Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Stephen Smith announced funding for 36 projects around the world, totaling nearly AUD 3.0 million, under the Human Rights Small Grants Scheme 2009-10.
The minister made the announcement on Thursday, the International Human Rights Day.
