Auto-rickshaw hijacked after killing driver

SIRAJGANJ, Nov 15 (UNB): Miscreants took away a CNG-run auto-rickshaw after killing its driver in Raiganj upazila here on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Jahanggir Hossain, 28, son of Tamijuddin of Monohorpur village in Shalonga Upazila.

Police said three people hired Jahangir's auto-rickshaw from Raiganj Bazar on Saturday night. They strangled him to death sometime at night and fled with the auto-rickshaw.

Local people found the body near Naoda Salua area Saturday morning and informed police. Police recovered the body and sent it to Sirajganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

A case was filed with Raiganj police station in this connection.
