Badsha laid to rest

KUSHTIA, Feb 16 (UNB): Aminul Huq Badsha, deputy press secretary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was buried at his family graveyard at Courtpara in the town Monday.

Earlier, his body was brought to the town from Dhaka at 5 pm and kept in front of his brother's residence for some time so that people could pay their last respects to him. Later, the body was taken to Kushtia Eidgah Maidan where a Namaz-e-Janaza was held.

Whip Solaiman Haq Joardar MP, Kushtia deputy commissioner Belal Hossain, local Awami League leaders, among others, attended the janaza.

The body of Badsha, who died in London on February 10, arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 12 noon on Sunday.

Later, the body was taken to central Shaheed Minar where people from all walks of life paid homage to Badsha.

His Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Asr prayers. Then the body was kept at Birdem Hospital's mortuary Sunday night.
