Bahadurabad-Teestamukh Ghat railway bridge soon: HT Imam

SIRAJGANJ, Aug 13 (BSS): Adviser to the Prime Minister (PM) HT Imam Thursday said that the government had taken decision to build Bahadurabad-Teestamukh Ghat railway bridge for further improvement of rail communication in country's northern region.
An industrial park will be set up in Sirajganj soon to create employment opportunities in the northern area of the country, he added.
He said this while inaugurating an information centre at Braharh Union Parishad under Ullapara Upazila in the district.
Local lawmaker Shafiqul Islam Shafi, Upazila Chairman Zahidul Haque, Deputy Commissioner of Sirajganj Humayun Kabir, Police Super Mosharraf Hossain, UNO Rezaul Kabir and Assistant Country Director of UNDP KAM Morshed also spoke on the occasion while local UP Chairman Alamgir Hossain Talukder chaired it.
Access to Information programme of the PM's Office and the Local Government Division set up the centre with technical assistance of UNDP.
HT Imam said so far 30 information centres have been set up to reach IT facilities to the doorsteps of the common people and 1,000 more centres will be set up soon.
He said that under this programme laptop computers have been provided to the deputy commissioners and the UNOs will be provided soon with the laptops.
The adviser said the present government believed in balanced development of the country, which has been reflected in the current budget.
Setting up of information centres in rural areas is a step to establish 'Digital Bangladesh' as announced by the PM, he added.
