NILPHAMARI, July 17 (UNB): Robbers looted cash money from drivers and helpers of 30 trucks at Sluice gate area under Jaldhaka Upazila Sunday night.
Local sources said the armed bandits put up barricade felling logs of wood on the road at about 10:00 pm and looted Tk 1.0 million in cash from the drivers and helpers from 30 trucks at gunpoint.
During the dacoity, the robbers also beat up the drivers and helpers, leaving 10 of them injured.
The victims alleged that there was no police patrol on the road although hundreds of goods-laden vehicles run on the route everyday.
