Bangabhaban on Sunday trashed an advertisement published in several newspapers involving the President, the highest institution of the state. Several national dailies, including the Daily Bartoman, published the ad, titled ‘Unconditional apology to the honourable President: Fervent appeal for Alhaj Mizanur Rahman’s release’. MR Trading Company authorities and the journalists, officials and employees of the Daily Bartoman published the advertisement rendering apology over a high-rise near the presidential palace. ‘The attention of the Bangabhaban authorities has been drawn to the advertisement over a multistoried building situated very close to the Bangabhaban which is a threat to its security,’ said a Bangabhaban release signed by President’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim. Mentioning that the Bangabhaban is a KPI-listed (Key Point Installation) special category area, the release said there is a proper authority for maintaining its security. ‘There’s no scope for involving the honourable President in this regard,’ according to UNB.
