Chief Information Commissioner Dr Abdul Malek represented Bangladesh at the conference in Manila, Philippines on Wednesday Bangladesh has become one of members of the International Conference of Information Commissioners (ICIC) executive committee (EC), reports BSS.
Bangladesh got elected through the voting of 83 member states at the 14th ICIC conference held in Manila, Philippines on Wednesday.
The nine-member EC will be headed by chief information commissioner of Mexico for the next three years.
Chief Information Commissioner Dr Abdul Malek represented Bangladesh at the conference held from June 19 to 21, 2023.
"This is a proud moment for Bangladesh. It has achieved respectable position in the global arena under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," Dr Malek told the news agency.
