Bangladesh has been selected to host a local session of the ESMO Examination 2025, a globally recognised assessment conducted by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). This marks the first time that the exam, widely regarded as the international benchmark for professional excellence in oncology, will be held in the country, says a statement.
The ESMO Examination is taken by medical oncologists worldwide and serves as a standard for clinical knowledge and global best practices in cancer care.
Having Bangladesh included in the list of parallel host countries is seen as a major step forward for the country's medical education and healthcare community.
The exam will be held at a recognised academic institution in Dhaka, under ESMO's official guidelines and supervision. This inclusion reflects years of progress in the country's oncology infrastructure, medical training, and growing alignment with international standards.
The main session of the ESMO Examination 2025 will be held on October 18 during the ESMO Congress 2025 in Berlin, Germany.
With the opportunity now available at home, local oncologists will no longer need to travel abroad to sit for this important exam.
