Banks, NBFIs among 19 awarded

A total of 19 establishments have been awarded the 8th ICAB National Awards for Best Published Accounts and Reports 2007.
The awards were handed over by Finance Adviser Dr AB Mirza Azizul Islam at a function at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the city Thursday.
Of the award winners, six belong to the banking sector, five are non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs), five from the manufacturing industry, two microfinance institutions and one from the public sector.
The six from the banking sector are Prime Bank Ltd, Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd, BRAC Bank Ltd, Dhaka Bank Ltd, Mercantile Bank Ltd, and South East Bank Ltd.
The five non-banking financial institutions are Prime Finance and Investment Ltd, Industrial Development Leasing Company of Bangladesh Ltd (IDLC), Lanka Bangla Finance Ltd, Uttara Finance and Investment Ltd, and IPDC of BD Ltd.
The five from the manufacturing sector are Singer Bangladesh Ltd, Renata Ltd, GlaxoSmithKline Bangladesh Ltd, Square Pharma Ltd and ACI Ltd.
The micro-finance institutions are BRAC and BURO while the public sector enterprise is Investment Corporation of Bangladesh.
