BD cattle trader beaten to death by BSF

JESSORE, May 19: A Bangladeshi national was beaten to death by the Border Security Force (BSF) of Angrail camp along the Putkhali frontier under Benapole port thana in Jessore district early Monday, said the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) .
The dead was identified as Sirajul Islam (40), son of Siddiqur Rahman of Kayemkola under adjacent Jhikargachha Upazila of the district.
Jalal Uddin, a cattle trader and also business partner of the deceased, told journalists that the BSF members beat Sirajul Islam to death while Sirajul was bringing cattle towards his residence early Monday. The body was kept along the frontier, he added.
Subedar Farid Uddin, Putkhali BGB camp in-charge, told newsmen that the BSF killed a Bangladeshi cattle trader along the Putkhali frontier.
Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge, investigation, Benapole port thana, said the police recovered the body being informed by the locals.
