BD expats in Turkey give aid to quake victims

The Bangladesh Students' Association in Turkey (BASAT), on Monday, distributed relief materials among the earthquake victims in Osmaniye province.

The assistance was provided on behalf of the expatriate Bangladeshis residing in Turkey.

A 16-member volunteer team of the BASAT, in coordination with the Immigration Authority of the Ministry of Interior of Turkey, distributed relief materials among the earthquake victims, temporarily sheltered in the Cevdetiye Container Camp.

On February 26, a container lorry loaded with relief goods along with a 16-member volunteer team left Istanbul for the earthquake-affected areas.

The team comprised of BASAT president Omar Faruk Helali, secretary general Nasruzzaman Naeem, joint secretary Nezam Uddin, literature and publications secretary Moshiur Rahman, school student affairs secretary Shahidul Islam, assistant school student affairs secretary Golam Azom, assistant office secretary Abdur Rahman, assistant scholarship affairs secretary Nazmul Islam Mojumdar and Al amin, assistant planning and programme secretary Rimon Ahmed, and members Humayun Kabir, Shahdat Hossain Sohan, Nosin Nawar, Fakhruddin Raji, and Azizul Haque, among others.
