Bangladesh has proposed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between organisations like BSS, TV, radio with their counterparts in Indonesia to exchange programmes and information on socio-cultural, religious and economic structures, report agencies.
Bangladesh also requested Indonesia to share Indonesia's experience to combat cyber crime in the mass media.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, now in Indonesia, made the proposal when he met Indonesian Minister for Communications and Informatics Rudiantara in Jakarta Thursday.
Rudiantara cordially welcomed Mr Inu at his office.
Both ministers discussed and exchanged views about their respective countries' existing organisational structure, supervision and laws on information broadcasting.
Mr Inu highlighted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's consistent eagerness and continuous initiatives so that Bangladesh sees an open democracy through a vibrant mass media system.
He said the prime challenge of an open mass media is to prevent cybercrime which both Bangladesh and Indonesia experience from time to time.
