Today (Monday) is the 11th death anniversary of Begum Fawzia Samad, wife of late M A Samad, a renowned insurance legend and founder of Bangladesh General Insurance Company Ltd, says a statement.
Late Begum Fawzia Samad devoted her life to the cause of the women-folk of the country serving in different capacities. She was the president of Dhaka Ladies Club for 38 years.
She was born in a respectable Muslim family of Sylhet in 1929 and died on April 25, 2011 at a hospital in Singapore.
She was the mother of Towhid Samad, chairman of BGIC, Fancy Samad, Tamju Samad, and Sabrina Samad.
