To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) in association with Shadhona, a centre for the advancement of South Asian culture, hosted a two-day festival of Bharathanatyam, the supreme Indian classical dance guided by Bharathanatyamprodigy Kirti Ramgopal, at the IUB auditorium in the city recently, says a press release.
Entitled as Rongoprobesh 2018, there was a solo performance by Arthy Ahmed on Friday and a South Indian music concert, Carnatic Kacheri, performed by Kolpotoru Ensemble, on Saturday.
Harsh Vardhan Shringla, High Commissioner of India in Bangladesh, Rashed Chowdhury, Chairman, Board of Trustees, IUB, Prof M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB, deans and senior members of the faculty, cultural personalities and a large number of IUB students were present on the occasion.
