The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) will add various advanced technologies, like artificial intelligence, chatbot and secured database, to its One Stop Service (OSS).
The country's investment promotion agency will also use advanced frontier technologies to make a smart OSS to facilitate investment here.
These were informed at a workshop 'Existing services with OSS system and integration', organised by BIDA at its headquarters in the city's Agargaon, a statement said.
BIDA Executive Chairman Lokman Hossain Miah was the chief guest of the function, presided over by its Secretary Khandoker Azizul Islam.
Mr Lokman Hossain said the BIDA has to make all its services available from one integrated OSS platform to provide modernised services to investors.
The prime minister has presented her vision to establish a 'Smart Bangladesh' by 2041, he said, adding: "In tune with that, our services have to be smart. The BIDA smart OSS will be established focusing on that."
Khandoker Azizul Islam said the BIDA OSS would be modernised with the support of the ICT ministry and other stakeholders.
He highlighted different recommendations and observations made by representatives of the government and non-government organisations that provide services through the OSS.
The statement added that the BIDA launched its OSS on February 24, 2019 to provide allied services to investors from a single platform. Since then it has been continuing to add more services and features to the OSS.
Currently, the agency provides 18 services and 22 other organisations provide 63 services through the OSS.
Moves are on to add more services to the OSS, so that it can provide more than 150 services of 50 organisations.
BIDA Director Generals Shah Mohammad Mahboob and Jibon Krishna Saha Roy were present on the occasion, among others.
