Bijoy Mela begins in Ctg

Chittagong, December 10: The 21 day Muktijuddher Bijoy Mela started in Chittagong today with the call to stand united against the anti-liberation and militant forces.
Deputy leader in parliament Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury inaugurated the Bijoy Mela by torching the Bijoy Shikha on the road island at the MA Aziz Stadium gate and handing it over to the representatives of the new generation this afternoon.
Later she addressed the rally at the stadium compound chaired by Bijoy Mela Parishad chairman city mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury.
In her address Sajeda said, we must fight out the anti-liberation and militant force which is out to destabilize the country. "We must put them on trial and this is what I want today from this grand festival of victory," she said.
She donated Tk one hundred thousand to the fund of the Bijoy Mela Parishad from her personal fund.
City mayor Mohiuddin Chowdhury said the people of Chittagong have started movement from this region to establish digital Bangladesh as initiated by prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The function was also addressed by Saiful Bari of ATN Bangla, Chittagong city AL secretary Kazi Inamul Huq Danu and parishad secretary general MA Hashem. The discussion meeting was followed by a cultural function.
