Birthday of poet Hasan Hafiz today

Today (Wednesday) is the 53rd birthday of poet Hasan Hafiz.
On this day he was born in Elahinagar of Sonargaon Upazila under Narayanganj district.
Authored 55 published books, of which 25 are books of poems.
He worked as Bangladesh representative of Kolkata based weekly 'Desh' (now a fortnightly) from 1987 to 1991.
Hafiz has also written profusely for children and authored edited and translated books on different issues including environment.
Hasan Hafiz won a number of awards for his contribution to the areas of journalism and lecture.
Currently, he is a joint news editor of the 'Amar Desh'.
