BNP terms city polls new drama

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in a statement on Wednesday said the Election Commission (EC) was going to stage another drama of picaresque election under the local government system the way it did during the last controversial general election on January 05 last year.

The statement issued by the party's Joint Secretary General Barkatullah Bulu said the EC did not hold any discussion with intellectuals and civil society members before announcing the poll schedule for three city corporations in Dhaka and Chittagong.
