Botswana Asst minister arrives tomorrow

Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration of landlocked country Botswana Dikgang Phillip Makgalemele arrives in Dhaka on a two-day visit tomorrow (Saturday) to explore prospective areas of cooperation between the two countries, reports UNB.

The is going to be the first minister-level visit from the Southern African country in Bangladesh, said an official at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

Makgalemele who will be leading a three-member delegation, is

scheduled to meet Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khondkar Mosharraf Hossain, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury and leaders of the apparel makers during his visit.

The Assistant Minister has already shown interest in having ideas about Bangladesh's success in the areas of agriculture, fisheries, knitwear and readymade garment industry.

The ministries concerned will present a documentary on their respective ministries' successes for the Botswana delegation.

He will also visit NGOs and will try to know how microcredit is playing role in reducing poverty in Bangladesh.

Makgalemele will have discussions with the ministry concerned on recruiting skilled manpower from Bangladesh.
