Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has filed lawsuits against four companies on the allegation of deceiving in measurement.
The BSTI's surveillance team at the city's Jhonson Road and Mobile Court in Tangail took such actions against the companies, a statement said Monday.
The cases were filed against the businesses under the Standards of Weights and Measures Bill 2018.
The BSTI surveillance team in Jhonson Road filed case against MS Yousuf Confetionary for not showing product's price, dates of manufacturing and expiration. The company didn't receive certification of digital scale verification either.
Another business in the same region was sued for similar offence.
