Building catches fire in capital


A fire broke out in a building under construction in Banani Chairmanbari area of the capital on Thursday.
However, there was no report of casualties.
An officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) told the FE that they received information on the outbreak of the fire at 2:40pm.
Firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flames around 3:20pm.
"The cause of the fire and the extent of loss could be ascertained after investigation," said the officer.
Earlier on February 29, a blaze razed a building to the ground in the Bailey Road area of the capital, leaving 45 people dead.
