RANGPUR, Mar 19 (BSS): The formation of mango continues amid unprecedented flowering of about 95 per cent mango tress everywhere in northern Bangladesh predicting a super bumper production of the fruits this season, experts said.
The agriculture experts and scientists predicted a record bumper mango production in the northern region if the prevailing favourable climatic conditions would continue with less natural calamities and disasters.
Experts and officials in the Regional Horticulture Research Station (RHRS) of Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute at Chapainawabganj and Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), farmers and agronomists said that flowering had already been completed and formation of mango had been continuing amid prevailing suitable climatic conditions so far for mango farming and record number of over 95 per cent mango trees has bloomed this time.
As per directions of the experts, the farmers have been taking extensive care and measures to make mango farming successful this year and they are busy in caring for their trees now in their orchards and homesteads-everywhere.
The agri-scientists and experts said that most of the mango trees had massively bloomed this season due to favourable climatic conditions. "The current season is the 'On year' for mango productions".
"If the climate remains favourable during the next few months, the mango formation and production from the blossomed trees would rise to an excellent level to yield a record bumper production of the most delicious fruit this year," they said.
Principal scientific officer of the RHRS at Chapainawabganj Dr Shafiqul Islam recently told the news agency that a bumper mango production was expected following massive blooms if fluctuations in temperatures, rainfalls, attack by pests and insects remain normal.
