A view of the wrecked bus after the accident in Birampur upazila of Dinajpur on Sunday morning. — Focus Bangla DINAJPUR, March 29, 2026 (BSS): Two people were killed and at least six others were seriously injured in a road accident in Birampur upazila of the district on Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as Mosharraf Hossain Babu, 57, the bus driver and a resident of Srinagar Upazila, and Azizul Islam, 25, the bus helper from Kaharol Upazila.
The accident occurred at around 10:00 am at Chandpur on the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj regional highway when the passenger coach collided head-on with a sand-laden truck, leaving the bus driver and helper dead on the spot and six others injured.
Six injured passengers were initially taken to Birampur Upazila Health Complex. Later, four of them were transferred to NITOR, Dhaka, while the remaining two were sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
The authorities seized both the bus and the truck involved in the accident.
