Businessman hacked dead in Gazipur

GAZIPUR, Mar 27 (BSS): A businessman was slaughtered allegedly by some miscreants at Boro Deura Sahajalal road area under Tongi Pourasabha of the district Wednesday night.

The victim was identified as Liton Mandol (53), son of Soimuddin of Nurpur village under Shantahar Thana in Naogaon district.

Officer-in-charge of Tongi Model Thana Ismail Hossain said some miscreants entered the house of Liton at around 3:00am and slaughtered him. Liton's wife Rashida was also seriously injured in the incident.

She was sent to Gazipur Sadar hospital in critical condition.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue.
