Businessman rescued from Gazipur hrs after abduction

Police rescued a businessman from forest at Ranipur in Gazipur Sadar Sunday evening, after hours of his abduction, reports UNB.

The victim was identified as Gopal Biswas, an exporter of crabs and fishes and resident of Uttara area of the city.

Police, quoting the victim, said he was abducted from the National Park area in Gazipur by a group of miscreants Sunday noon.

The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Tk 5.0 million, and threatened to kill him if the money is not paid.

The kidnappers later left him in Ranipur area with his eyes, hands and legs tied. On information, police rescued him in the evening.
