Call to improve local handicrafts to compete in the global market

Adviser for Women and Children Affairs Rasheda K Chowdhury stressed the need for improving the standard of Bangladeshi handicraft products to get an easier access to the global market.brThe adviser said this after inaugurating a six-day Fifth Women Entrepreneur Trade Expo-2008 (WETEX) at the National Shooting Complex in the city Sunday, reports UNB.brWithout improving the quality of our products it will not be possible to compete in the global market, she said.brShe also urged private entrepreneurs to come forward to develop and promote the promising handicraft sector.brThe fair was organised by Pakistan High Commission, Jobs Group Bangladesh, Women Entrepreneurs' Association Bangladesh and SME Foundation with assistance from Bank Al-Falah.
