Call to include tobacco related articles in nat'l curriculum

Speakers at an awareness meeting have underscored the need for inclusion of tobacco related articles in the national curriculum to provide information to the students on the dangers of tobacco smoking.

The awareness raising meeting and declaration of smoke free school programme was held at the city's Lalmatia Housing Society School Thursday, reports UNB.

The meeting, organised by LIFE with the assistance of World Health Organisation (WHO), was presided over by LIFE Executive Director Kamrul Islam Sony.

Acting headmaster of Lalmatia Housing Society School Abdul Hye, senior programme officer of Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) Iqbal Masud, senior teacher Shariful Islam and LIFE programme director Muhammad Amirul Islam spoke on the occasion.
