Call to make rehabilitation programme a success

GAIBANDHA, Aug 10 (BSS): Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock Adviser CS Karim said the government would soon start rehabilitation programme for flood affected people the district.
"Though the devastating flood was tackled with coordinated efforts of joint forces and local administration, but now post- flood rehabilitation programme could also be made successful".
Agriculture Adviser CS Karim said this while he was reviewing the flood coordination activities at the conference room of the district collectorate here Thursday night as chief the guest.
He thanked the joint forces and local administration for tackling the flood situation in the district successfully and sought cooperation of all to make the rehabilitation programme a success.
In the meeting, he directed the authorities concerned to ensure the supply of Aman seed, fertilizer and the distribution of Agri-loan among the farmers properly and to reconstruct the infrastructure-embankments and roads very soon.
He also instructed the BMDA to operate the inoperative deep tube wells taking the electric connections from Palli Bidyut and power Development Board for irrigation in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Quazi Md Anwarul Hakim Police Super Saleh Mohammad Tanvir, local commanding officer of Joint Forces M Zahidur Rahim, district level officers, public representatives including journalists participated in the meeting.
Earlier, CS Karim distributed relief materials among the flood victims in Taltala area under sadar upazila in the district Thursday afternoon.
