Call to recruit more skilled manpower from Bangladesh

President Iajuddin Ahmed Sunday urged the Malaysian government to recruit more skilled Bangladeshi workers and take effective measures for reducing the existing trade gap between the two countries, reports BSS.
"Malaysian importers could import knitwear and woven garments, pharmaceutical, leather, light-engineering, jute, agro and ceramic products and frozen fish in very competitive prices."
The President said this while speaking to the outgoing Ambassador of Malaysia Dato Abdul Malek Bin Abdul Aziz made a farewell call on him at Bangabhaban in the city Sunday.
Secretary of the President's Office Md Sirajul Islam, Military Secretary to the President Major General Mohammad Ruhul Amin were also present on the occasion.
Welcoming the outgoing Ambassador, the President expressed his satisfaction on the existing bilateral relations between the two countries and extended gratitude for generous response of Malaysia government after cyclone 'Sidr'.
Dr Iajuddin urged Malaysian investors to invest in country's construction, power plant, waste management, ICT, tourism, machinery and industrial sectors as presently very congenial atmosphere of investment prevailing in the country.
The president also said that Bangladesh could closely work with Malaysia on climate change issues in different international forum.
President conveyed his sincere wishes and best regards to the King and Prime Minister of Malaysia and also invited them to visit Bangladesh at their convenience. The outgoing Malaysian Ambassador stated that the existing bilateral relations between Malaysia and Bangladesh are excellent and it would be further strengthened in the days to come.
The envoy also expressed his deep gratitude to the government and the people of Bangladesh for providing sincere support and cooperation in discharging his duties.
Meanwhile, President Iajuddin Ahmed Sunday also urged the Romanian government to recruit skilled and semi-skilled manpower from Bangladesh as they could contribute to their economy.
"Bangladesh is endowed with large manpower and the Government of Romania can import our skilled and semi-skilled workforces for their development," Dr Iajuddin said while outgoing Ambassador of Romania to Bangladesh Vasile Sofineti made a farewell call on him at Bangabhaban here.
Welcoming the outgoing Ambassador, the President appreciated him for his sincere endeavours in further strengthening relations between the two countries during his tenure.
He called upon Romanian investors to invest in Bangladesh specially in the sectors like readymade garments, textiles, agro-processing, leather products, pharmaceuticals, energy, power and infrastructure development as presently a very congenial atmosphere of investment was prevailing in the country.
