Canada seeks direct air link with BD

Canada is eager to establish Dhaka-Toronto direct air link as it wants to be a partner in the development process of Bangladesh civil aviation sector, reports BSS.
Canadian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Benoit Pierre Laramee expressed the interest when he called on Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon at the latter's office in the city.
The High Commissioner also stated his government 's willingness to be a partner in the development of the country's air ports and other infrastructures under Public Private Partnership (PPP) in civil aviation sector.
Lauding the ongoing progress in socio-economic sector of Bangladesh, Laramee said the economic progress would help change the living standard of the people of Bangladesh.
Referring to the ongoing political unrest, the envoy categorically said, 'It is the internal problem of Bangladesh and the people of the country would solve it."
